Germany the country of origin of homoeopathy is one of the largest consumer of herbal drugs in the world. It is specially related to India in the herbal drug trade, being the second largest importer of herbal drugs from India. India in turn imports a large number of homoeopathic drugs from Germany. The techniques of extraction have been develop and perfected by German scientist. Not only that, Germany is amongst a few countries where Ayurveda has been recognised as system of medicine in education. There are a number of medicinal plants which are used in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and modern herbal system. Mother tinctures of many plants are used nearly for the same purpose in Homoeopathy as crude drugs are used in Ayurveda.
This issue provides photographs of about 200 crude drugs along with their botanical names, Indian trade names, English and Deutsch (German) names.
